Tobacco Free Partnership Recognized at DeSoto County Ahead 2026

The Tobacco Free Partnership of DeSoto County was proud to participate as an exhibitor at the 2026 DeSoto County Ahead Community Event held at the Turner Agri Civic Center in Arcadia.
This year’s event brought together nearly 100 exhibitors and more than 500 residents for an evening focused on connection, collaboration, and community progress. Organizations from across the county shared resources, updates, and opportunities, demonstrating what is possible when DeSoto County comes together around shared goals.
At our Tobacco Prevention booth, we intentionally designed the space to spark conversation. Using our interactive lungs display as a visual engagement tool, we connected with community members about tobacco free policies, youth prevention efforts, and free cessation resources available locally. Rather than simply handing out materials, our goal was dialogue. We met people where they were, answered questions, and shared how local tobacco free initiatives are helping protect youth and create healthier spaces across the county.
Events like DeSoto County Ahead matter because they strengthen relationships between organizations and residents. Prevention work does not happen in isolation. It happens when community leaders, families, educators, health professionals, and advocates align around protecting the next generation.
We were honored to receive the Social Media Spotlight Award from DeSoto County Ahead, recognizing our efforts to promote the event and engage the community both online and in person. This recognition reflects the commitment of our Partnership members and SWAT youth to not only show up, but to amplify positive community momentum.
