DeSoto County SWAT Club Wraps Up a Successful Year
May 6, 2025
As the school year comes to a close, the DeSoto County SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco) club is proud to celebrate all the hard work and dedication of its members. SWAT students across the county have spent the year raising awareness about the dangers of tobacco and vaping, encouraging their peers to make healthy choices, and promoting tobacco-free environments in our schools and community.
From creative poster contests to school-wide presentations and community outreach events, SWAT members have shown what it means to be leaders and positive role models. Their energy and passion have made a lasting difference for students of all ages in DeSoto County.
We are also excited to recognize our SWAT Volunteer of the Year: Julie Lopez! Julie has gone above and beyond in supporting the SWAT club, volunteering her time at events, helping organize activities, and encouraging students to get involved. Her positive attitude and dedication to youth health have made a huge impact on the success of our program this year.
Thank you, Julie, for your outstanding support and thank you to all of our SWAT members for making this a year to remember!
As we look ahead, DeSoto County SWAT is already planning new projects and outreach opportunities for the upcoming school year. Our mission remains the same: to educate, empower, and inspire students to live tobacco-free lives. We encourage any students interested in joining SWAT to get involved next year and be part of a team that’s making a positive difference in our schools and community.
